We Should Decriminalize Sex Work, and also Not Persecute People Caught Watching Porn in Econ 110

By now, the issue of sex work is no longer a debate. Decriminalization guarantees better and safer working conditions for sex workers who are just trying to make ends meet like everybody else. We should stop talking and start acting. Also, if someone happened to masturbate in their Economics class once, is that such a big deal?

Public shaming of sex workers makes their lives more dangerous. I have been working for months to ensure that these fellow human beings will be able to work and live in peace, but now to see my work stained by a fascist crusade against me for the “crime” of paying a cam-girl during a lecture is idiotic.

Look, if you really think that it’s so bad to watch porn in class then ban porn. If it’s really so “disruptive” when I “mistakenly turn the volume all the way up on my computer and I’m connected to the projector,” then go ahead, ban it. But I don’t think you’re going to, because you don’t have the balls. You are all fucking cowards.

Please, please donate to my GoFundMe, so we can all keep fighting together for the rights of sex workers across the country. They should not have to suffer in dehumanizing conditions any longer. When we talk to our grandchildren, we should be able to tell them that we did all we could for the people living on the margins of society. Fighting for their rights isn’t just morally the right thing to do, it’s also just plain logical. The only thing more irrational than not acting to help sex workers would be acting on it but still persecuting people for watching porn in class.
